Wild Rivers, Wild Steelhead

In Oregon, Washington by Nick Chambers

What are the keys to successful wild steelhead conservation? What can you do to help this cause? How do steelhead differ from other salmonids in their sexual behavior? For answers to these and many other questions about wild steelhead, as well as some of the best steelhead stories ever told, please join Wild Steelheaders United for an evening of science, storytelling and socializing at Georgetown Brewing on Thursday March 16th.

The evening will feature two guest speakers who need little introduction in the steelhead world. First up is Bill Herzog—“The Metal God”—who has more experience fishing for steelhead than just about anyone else and has been writing on the subject for over 30 years.

Next will be John McMillan, Science Director for Trout Unlimited’s Wild Steelhead Initiative. John also has a strong steelhead fishing pedigree and has been fishing for, and doing research on, steelhead, salmon and trout throughout the Pacific Northwest since he was young.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see and hear these two legends of the steelhead community together—and contribute to an important cause while you are at it.

There will be appetizers, beer and great raffle prizes in addition to the speakers. Doors will open at 7pm, admission is free and all ages are welcome to attend. No need to purchase a ticket in order to participate. Raffle prizes continue to arrive daily so show up for your chance to walk away with some new gear in addition to learning more about all of our favorite fish species.

We hope to see you on the 16th!
